The 3DCrafter thing or whatever doesn't work for me. I'd start it up, but it reports error #91. Here's what the window says:
Run-time error '91':
Object variable or With block variable not set

I was reading this thread and noticed that there was some discussion of the turning timken bearings on the axle ends. BLLW caboose has turning axle ends.

So can I get help on why my 3DC won't start up? I looked on the FAQ of the program but it didn't work. Installing the Visual Basic did nothing and this was my first time installing 3DC so what's the point of reinstalling it?

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it in Program Files not ___Program Files x 86___
When mine was acting up like this a person told me about what the problem could be and after I reinstalled it in the regular ____Program Files____area within Computer it has never given me a problem again.

Hope this helps. Perhaps this will make it start up without that problem.

I never had a x86 to begin with. I installed it on my external drive with 2 TB, and on the installation screen said the drive was supported. I'll do Program Files and see if that works.
EDIT:
It works. Thanks!
EDIT:
What is "RSC"? It sounds familiar but I don't remember what it is. I googled it and it returned some train.

The RPE-4D slug does as well. I was noticing the other day that the ES44 has them too. For some reason, I thought I saw an RW loco that did not have turning bearings on the ends.

What is RSC? On step 3 where it says practice, I don't know where the dev docs are. Even googling "RSC railworks Getting a locomotive in the game" doesn't give me anything.

OK, so RSC stands for Rail Simulator Corporation. Yes, was Rail Works, and now it is Train Simulator. You are looking for the RSDevTools which cryptically do not give you tools, but documentation. It is some of the best they have, and they leave you wanting.

You can find it on their web site:
http://www.railsimulator.com/support.php

Its a simple installer, but its been awhile since I last ran it. I seem to have my file at:
'...\railworks\Assets\DMV\Models\Docs\Manuals' which is a custom location so I think it will as you where you want them. In this folder you will see 52 PDFs, an you want to first read '9.01 Create an Engine.pdf'. This will show you the bare basics of how to make a blueprint (the XML which describes your model to RW).

When I first started creating models for RW I used SU and ported them to 3DC. I have nothing against SU (I think its a great environment) but it was getting to be a hassle to port them over and make all the corrections in 3DC, so I decided to jump feet first into 3DC and learn it. I have not looked back.

Sorry for the double-post.
So I finally finished a sample train in 3DC, and I want to verify that I'm on the right track and I have no mistakes.
Here's the structure of the train and what it looks like. Is it too big/small?

By the way I'm having a hard time exporting to IGS/IGL with 3DC. The plugin for 3DC isn't working properly. I'd install it, and it would show no error. When I open 3DC up, it reinstalls something for it. I can now only import IGS/IGL, but not export.
