That's the problem with these old beasts. Reference material is rough, and fonts are rougher.. I Was going to do both of Lehigh Valleys GP9s... But the font they used wasn't your typical LV font.. No where to be found and deleted the repaint.. Same reason I refuse to do a PL&E loco.. Fonts don't exist.

Did you also get Font Viewer? Great little utility for viewing all those fonts. *!greengrin!*

It would be great to have some red Rock Island units. With them we can recreate the Lafayette Coal train

(with cupple of F7Bs and coal hoppers) Actually GP9 + F7B is one of my favourite lineups. !*salute*!

Rock Island Red was one that I was already considering, so I think it's very likely. *!!wink!!*

Now I've gotta say, this geep looks awesome in Kodachrome:

Still toying around with the placement of the SP on the sides. No matter how hard I try, I can't convince myself that it's in the right place. **!!bang!!**

Then those grills are going to be the absolute hardest part of this one. I'll try my best to get them to look right but if they become too much of a PITA, I'll just paint them black because I also have to make new number textures.

It looks great. The Koda will definitely have a home on my route.

Only "rivet counter" thing I see is the numbers on the side of the cab, they are too, what, bright? white? Otherwise, fantastic job! !!*ok*!!

Thank you!

Well, I highly doubt it's perfect:

But based on the pictures I had to work off of, I think that's about as close as I can get it. I had to do static road numbers so you'll get 6 of them in the pack.

I hope you like it steve!

That's the one thing about the Kodachrome paint scheme. Even a Southern Pacific fan such as myself still thinks the SP logo is just a tad off. Always want to center it, hehe.

Can't wait to add these to my roaster of 9's.

Yep. Even after several more adjustments, I can't help feeling they're still not right.

Opinions please?

I've also done some research and I found complete roster information for the Kodachromes. Southern Pacific had 9 Kodachrome painted GP9s on their roster and I've already got their numbers plugged into the autonumbering.

Santa Fe on the other hand didn't have any high nose GP9s painted in Kodachrome. But they did have 2 chop nose GP9s in this scheme. I still want to include a Santa Fe version so what would you guys prefer that I just use the 2 road numbers, or make up some fake ones?

And as I said before I'm also going to include the full SPSF version both with and without the SP light cluster. And since the SPSF merger never happened, I get to make these road numbers up. *!greengrin!* I think 30 for each version should be fine.
