Ugh. Looks like I've run into a brick wall. **!!bang!!**

I can't seem to get the colors on the cab to behave. Here it is at 12:00:

And then at 20:00:

I've been adjusting hues and saturations for about 2 hours now trying to fix it. Someone please help me out here before I rip my hair out! !*hp*! !*snd-help*!

I could be wrong, but I think that would have more to do with the shader than the textures them self.

!!howdy!! Thats goin to be a bugger to put back if ya don't remember what you adjusted and by how much. I've got a deal in PSP-9 that lets ya select a area and you can just change the, color, hue and tint in the slected area. If you got that , you take it back to gray scale and touch it up a little. Other than that ,cut and paste off another, or backs ups. I always keep three or four of them, I had to learn that the hard way.

EDIT ; Ahhhh...... I just seen the time on the pics, ain't nothing wrong with it, its the sun refections. They maken this stuff too real. !!howdy!!

No doubt. Ambient color will show up really well on white, as you see above. As a side note, there are ways to make it less pronounced with the shader set up, if you wanted. Here is an example. Mind you this is a simple shader in Maya. I have no clue if you would be able to do this with the Railworks set up.

Image

Two simple lambert shaders, both are white, with the first sphere's ambient color set to full black, the second one is 50% grey which allows the white to show up a little more. Both are lit by the same orange spot light. If there is a way to adjust ambient color in the Railworks shaders, then you could control that.

Thanks for the tips guys. !*salute*!

I'll keep playing with it and see if I can find a sweet spot where it's not too noticeable. It could also be the fact that I have the APH Lighting Enhancement Pack.

Meanwhile....

I'm surprised no one has done an NS ES44AC repaint yet. Well except the ones on Digirails, but the colors don't look right on those. I'll try to get this one as close to RSC's Dash 9 as I can.

So should this have autonumbering or "painted on" road numbers?

If you have the NS -9 use those #'s other wise I would paint them on. The BNSF and or UP #'s will not look right, but that is just my opinion. But in the end you are doing it so do it the way you want to.

P.S.
Nice job so far.

Well, it's not perfect, but it's close enough I think:
