I'm winding down the Detailing tut and i'm about to start on tut Cabview section. I'm compiling a list of animated parts that I will need, please feel free to add if i'm missing something.

- Throttle
- Dynamic brake
- Train brake
- Locomotive brake
- Speedometer
- Ameter
- Lights ( dial switch )
- Sander ( pull knob )
- Wipers ( flip switch )
- Horn (pull lever )

What RW usually calls Dynamic brake is actually ( most of the time ) the selector switch, which turns the power handle into the DB handle ( and possibly does stuff with the motor wiring, but that's pure physics and not actually needed for anything newer than the 30s.). Well that's what EMDs do anyway, I've not got round to reading an old GE/Alco manual yet.

You need Brake cyl pressure, reservoir pressure, train pipe pressure, EQ pressure dials.

Not everything in this tutorial will be exclusive to just 3DC. If any of you out there who are adept in Painting, Animation, Audio, Blueprinting, or anything else that might help this along want to make a few screen caps and descriptions for the process, I will be more than happy to put it into web formatting and incorporate it into the tut. With full credit to the author, of course.

So, is it basically the same for a motorcar? I read through this tutorial (which is very good, I must say!) But I need more for making a Hi-rail/Speeder car.

You might get with mdurdan on that. He's got one of the default utility trucks up on the rails.

Mdurdan is doing something slightly different. He is taking an existing model and motorizinf it. If you want to make a fully functional motorcar then, yes you can use SMM's tutorial.

SMM I have not forgotten this thread! *!greengrin!*

Slow going... but I am officially on step 61, though I have done a lot of the body work.

As soon as I am done with Bogies Part 2 (in its entirety) I promise to post a WIP picture so you know I am not fibbing. I have completely broken my poly budget. So far I am at 3267 (the entire model is at 11279) for the one bogie. Needless to say I will be looking for things to clip and trim.

Have you had a look around for 2 ft 6 in gauge track to run it on?
