After their nationwide tour the four FT demonstrator units were sold to the Southern Railway & lettered for their Cincinnati, New Orleans and Texas Pacific (CNO&TP) subsidary. The 103 lead unit was donated to the St Louis Museum of Transportation after retirement & was on display for many years in it's Southern Ry paint, until the unit was repainted into it's original demonstrator colors for display during an open house at the EMD plant in McCook,Ill celebrating the 50th anniversary of the nationwide tour of FT 103
