"OUT TONIGHT! The EMD SD70ACe diesel locomotive
will be available for RailWorks 2 Train Simulator tonight.
Since 1992 more than 4,000 powerful General Motors-designed SD70 diesel locomotives have
been produced and they can be found hard at work
across the length and breadth of the United States and beyond. The SD70ACe represents a further step forward over the original design in terms of lower emissions and simpler maintenance. The
RailSimulator.com SD70ACe will include two Union Pacific colour schemes,
accurately recreated controls and instruments, and 5 scenarios including 3 Career System scenarios. Available tonight on Steam."

If that's Barstow to San Bernadino (which it looks like could be) yeah, they will need some cool drinks.

I still don't see it on Steam, usually a new release is up by 8AM California time. *sigh* I'll keep checking back, this is one loco I have been waiting for!

Defiling the Sacred Altar

I really, REALLY hate it that RSC chose to go with the Heritage Units than other US Class One railroads. But that's alright, check out the latest "Lease Unit" to grace NS rails. *!lol!*

I will add though, that other than the paint scheme, this is an excellent locomotive model (not sure if it's $19 excellent yet!). The sounds are dead on from the units that I have heard, the interior of the cab is great - nice touch with the radio chatter. RSC really did a good job with this unit. Can't wait to get it out on the open road, after a trip through the paint shop, of course.

Wow, what a stunning engine! I#m so impressed. !*brav*!
Especially the engine sound is so great, although I think the bell could be louder.

But I also noticed three faults on the UP standard version:
1. the UP logo on the nose is not centred
2. the numberboard should be all black, but there is a yellow frame around the numbers
3. there is a red texture missing on the cover of a switch from the outside view

My only cons (that I can find) on this
[Rivet Counter]The horn and bell in the cab have a single plane face using a "TrainViewFacingFlora.fx" shader, and not a real full 3d model, leading to some weird looking stuff with the horn. Also there is no sander sound, or train brake apply sound[/Rivet Counter]

I'm not sure if these are faults or true to life things though.

Still a superb job though.
