Doing a Google search shows there were both green and orange, and black and orange.

After "extensive" research I also found out that the green and orange is called "Perlman Green Livery". (http://www.rattenne.com/WP/wp3544.htm)
In some cases it looks almost black.

But there seems to be also a black&orange, apllied to the last GP40-2s delivered to the WP.
Maybe they wanted to economize the cleaning of the locos by simply making them black. No more need to clean. !*roll-laugh*!

So now as this is clarified, someone wants to do a WP GP40? After this informative discussion with you all, I really want one.

So I contacted Nalle13 and he's a real WP expert.

He told me this:
"As for the WP liveries... that thread dealt primarily with hood units so we'll stick to that. The F's and switchers are a story by themselves... ;-)
There were three different basic paints:

The Zephyr scheme - silver and orange. Variations included black or silver lettering, some units had black anti-skid paint on top of the nose, some didn't.

Perlman Green: Dark green with orange lettering. Variations in the striping on the ends.

New Image: Dark green ( "greener" than the PG green and not quite as dark ) with orange lettering, nose/long hood end and cab sides ( green numbers ).

Then there were the oddball GP35 #3003 that was solid orange, akin to the "Pumpkin" F-units. the only hood unit to ever wear that scheme. And finally the Bicentennial units that were red, white and blue for a couple of years...
All schemes featured black underbodies and trucks.
There were never any black hood units. Only switchers were ever black."

Thank you Nalle. !!*ok*!!
