While we are all enjoying the impressive recently released TS 2024 Dovetail is moving on.

On their website DTG wrote.....

. . . . . . . Moving on to Phase 3, our aim with this phase is to spend some time working on some really annoying bugs that have been around for a long time. We will need to timebox this work (a way of saying we need to set some limits to avoid costs spiralling out of control) which is likely to mean we won’t get to everything.
We have used your and our partners’ feedback to help us come up with a list of things we want to look at specifically, and we’re hopeful that in amongst that list of things we will fix the most important bugs.
The above may not sound like a lot but, there are some really complex issues that will need to be unraveled – a bit like attempting to unravel a rope or wire that has got itself into knots. So, we will need the time to work on them. . . . . . . .

What kind of bugs should we be thinking of ? Any idea ? Hopes ? Wishes ? Insight ? Just wondering what these "really annoying bugs" and "most important bugs" could be.

Hopefully it is doable to fix the AI bug, where AI collisions at the other side of time kicks me out of my game, in a future update. I think those collisions should only kick me out of my game when my train is directly involved.

Posting it here is a waste of time. Tell them.

I do not want to tell them at all. I am sure they have a list with thousands of bugs and another list with thousands of imperfections.

Am just wondering what the major ones could be, besides the World Editor not having an decent exit option and the TGV emergence catering door not having enough rivets :-)

It is not them (DTG) that posted this right here.
It´s Cardinal51 who wants to bring us the joy to work with the TSC betas.

I have read the article an it goes into depth about what DTG have and what is attempting to accomplish. It also explains what they can't do in order to keep from breaking the game and where their priorities are and why. It also gives a background into how things work within the code. While it is written in developer speak it does explain is more simpler terms some of what is going on under the hood.
The BETAS have been a good thing. Having an opt in rather than an opt out allows those of us who are a bit more adventuresome to try and report back as to the success or negative impacts of the changes to be incorporated in the update to TSC. One has to expect that because every computer, every TSC installation, every combination of installed DLC is unique, every time a change in base code is made it will affect someone negatively, this is a given. By adding more and better developer tools it has made it easier to find these issues within the DLC and correct them so it is consistent with the newer code. It also allows developers to run their DLCs to test and make corrections to their own products.
It is the old adage "you can't make an omelet".... The dance here is to minimize negative impacts. As older computers are phased out by attrition TSC most likely raise it's minimum specifications benefiting newer more powerful systems. One such change to be implement is the elimination of the 32 bit version. It is a good read. This is an old game with much value. It is amazing that it is still supported and improved even though DTG has a competing franchise it is also developing.

Good news. Over at DTG Steve (Senior Producer) just posted this . . . .

TrainSim-Steve wrote:We're targeting sometime this month, all being well, for the next public beta.

Best, Steve

I blindly assume that this BETA is also part of the Phase 3.
