I'm still having problems playing this route in 64-bit since the DTG update. I cannot do a freeroam or play any scenarios as the game just freezes when I go to drive any locomotive, I haven't ticked any extra boxes in editor for 3rd party stuff, it's vanilla stock included with the route. There was a patch for the original route as we had this problem before when the route was originally released, but, I can't find the link now to try it on this updated version, any ideas please folks?

Thanks v.m. Buzz, unfortunately, installing that old patched global scenery hasn't helped, and I've tried it on several route versions now, but, no dice. Will need to go back to the drawing board on this. **!!bang!!**

Hmm. Working OK here. Maybe uninstall and re-install.

I've already done that Buzz, got the original released version zipped up in archive and the new current version and patched them both up, but, 64-bit isn't playing ball, I may be OK in 32-bit, but, I haven't used that for over 3 years and I'm unsure if it will work properly, editting the route and driving on it.

I'm trying to think of something else to try. I assume you have run TSTools and everything looks OK. Maybe someone else can think of something.

Hi all,

A couple things come to mind:

- that patch Buzz kindly linked to has been distributed through Steam long ago, so there's no need to install it manually

- the 64 bit .exe for unknown reasons tends to crash/freeze when using the scenario editor on Springfield Line. I recommend using the 32 bit exe for editing. 64 bit is fine for playing for me, but you should start your scenarios from the Drive menu and not the editor (which you shouldn't be doing anyway as starting via the orange Play button in the editor tends to mess up the signal initialization).

- if in doubt, the 32 bit exe still works totally fine on Springfield if indeed that happens to be the only option for you to even start the route. The route was built in it, after all (and in fact, long before the 64 bit exe even became a thing).

Cheers,
Michael

I'll try it in 32-bit Michael, hopefully it should work OK, thanks very much for your message, it's a fabulous route and one that I often play on, especially, as Reppo created the E33 for it, it would be catastrophic for me if it didn't work properly any more
