Brake Air Release Sound w-Krellnut Car Sounds?

Unread postby ironcat60 » Sun Aug 29, 2021 4:06 am

Say, have a question for you all. I am getting back into the sim after a long break. I have noticed that there is no Air Release sound on the cars with Krellnut's Sound mod.
I could have sworn there was a Air Release sound before; so do I have a problem I have to sort out or am I mistaken?

I don't believe there ever was an air release sound. (It would be cool if there was).

It wouldn't be that hard to do but I wouldn't think of it without getting Walter's permission.

Thank you for the replies gentlemen.

Now that I remember how to check the proxy I can see no such command line is present. And yes I would not publish anything altered with out the authors permission.

I should have stated from my intent that I am moving into a retirement community. They have several rooms set up with a big screen TV which community members can use. I already have several members who are willing to give this sim a try.

So I was interested in having air release sound because when they are on exterior view getting ready to back some cars into a siding they have a aural cue so they know that that the brakes released before they try throttling up. I felt this was a better course of action then just saying "wait 5 seconds or "stay in the cab, watch the gauges and then switch to exterior".

So I do not see the harm in adding such a command line for my personal preference. Not quite sure how to do this but I am thinking happy positive thoughts that there is information on how to do this somewhere in google-land.

Salute,
Christopher

If you have our Freight Pack 01 set, they have brake valve ticking and release sounds.

I would have thought retired old men would provide their own release sound.

your father smelt of elderberries!" French Soldier, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Yes us old folks are like steam trains. We all have a pressure dome with a built in relief valve to vent extra "steam" !!jabber!!

And I will look into that Freight Pack 1 at Searchlight Simulations, I presume...

Yes sir. If you're handy at bin editing, one could swap cars to those sounds if you so desired. Though IIRC the brake noises only work when pulled by our stuff.
