Is there anything to be gained buying the new version of the Northeast Corridor? If you already have the first issue of this route
GUI 00000030-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.
Does the new route have the same GUI Number as above?

My version is dated 2016 and has that number. I went to the store and clicked on it and it said I already owned it for whatever that's worth.

Thanks Buzz, saves me and possibly others wasting time and effort chasing what they already own. Must admit this bit of marketing has me wondering whats going on.

Im a bit confused.... are we talking about the advertising in game as I am seeing NEC Washington DC to Baltimore which I have purchased which is route GUID 00000097-0000-0000-0000-000000002021 or has there been a re-release of the Philadelphia to NYC? I hope so as it could use some love

Just to clarify (hopefully):

Northeast Corridor: New York - Philadelphia Route Add-On was originally released in 2012 and in 2016 was "remastered." All owners of the original 2012 version automatically received the remastered update. New purchasers since 2016 received the remastered version. The remastered edition included some scenery refinements and modest improvements to the AEM-7.

Northeast Corridor: Washington DC - Baltimore Route Add-On has just been released and is an entirely different portion of the NEC.

Thanks Bekns,
that was all I needed to have confirmed. That, it is, a completely different route and consequently, a different GUI Number. So many items for sale of late have very similar identifications to existing products. Been caught out a few times buying stuff I already had, which only came to light when the downloaded zip turned up as ......(1).
