Help?

Hey folks-
I am struggling to install the Boston & Maine F7 that I found on this site. I am a huge B&M fan and this repaint is the reason I got TS2021. (here is the repaint I am talking about:
https://railworksamerica.com/index.php/ ... e-repaints)
When I attempt to install following the directions, I am unable to find either GeoPcDx for the A or B units in the engines folder in the default F7 in Feather River. I have tried coping those files from the empire builder F7 (the only place I could find them) and when I attempt to use the B&M F7 in the sim, all I see is a green blob, similar in color to the cabin of the F7 (this is in the quick drive where you can "build a train")
If I remove the GeoPcDx files I see the B&M A and B units in the quick driver builder thing but selecting them does nothing.
I am really hoping to use this so if anyone has any ideas, I sure would love some help!

Update:
I got the reskin to show by dumping the texture files into the UP F7. However I can’t figure out how to get the letters and numbers to show. The numbers display “missing texture file” and the B&M text on the side is absent.
I am not quite sure what to do with the Searchlight stuff - is this a pay ware add on I should track down?

In the Feather River folder you will see a file: FeatherRiverAssets.ap
You will need to extract the contents of this file in the FeatherRiver folder. That will give you a folder labeled: Railvehicles
Go into that folder to: Diesel/F7
Within that folder are the files that you are looking for. Copy those files & the Cabview folder and paste them as directed in the B&M F7 folder.
You will need the program 7z to extract the folder from the .ap file.

(Jim, I see you posted before I could finish my response, but I'll post anyway, just in case any of my recommendations are helpful. So please excuse me, I don't mean to supersede any of your advice. Thanks!)
Hey Moe, Welcome!
Buzz did a fine job on that B&M repaint. Let's break down your inquiry and see if we can get you rolling:
"When I attempt to install following the directions, I am unable to find either GeoPcDx for the A or B units in the engines folder in the default F7 in Feather River."
Assuming you've opened Feather River's main file (ap-file format) with 7-Zip or a similar program; you should be seeing the GeoPcDx files in the specified sub-folder. Since you are not seeing them, and assuming you are using Windows 10; check your view settings (top of window) tab in File Explorer and ensure that the "file name extensions" and "hidden files" boxes are "checked". Then go to the "default F7 in Feather River" again, and see if the GeoPcDx file appears.
"I have tried copying those files from the empire builder F7. If I remove the GeoPcDx files I see the B&M A and B units in the quick driver builder thing but selecting them does nothing. When I attempt to use the B&M F7 in the sim, all I see is a green blob, similar in color to the cabin of the F7."
Exactly; this will not work, as the content of the Empire Builder's GeoPcDx file is specifically for it's own model (not the Feather River F7). The sim is only reading the repaint's data files, but can't access the Feather River GeoPcDx files.
Once the Feather River engine GeoPcDx file and entire cabview folder are discovered and applied; be sure to check the following (from the installation instructions) if you are creating a "free-roam" (for example) in the scenario builder:
"The Searchlight Simulation needs to be checked for the side lettering to show up."
"Make sure that you have the Feather River checked in the Asset box. It will show up as (FR) BnM F7."
Please post back with your results. If none of this has been successful, we'll need to dig deeper into the cause of the problem. There are some very knowledgeable folks on this forum, so continue to be patient and I'm sure a solution will arise soon.

Thanks for the help folks!
I was successful in getting the repaint to show up - it took way longer than it should have (I blame operator headspace and timing).
My only outstanding issue is I am unable to see any lettering on the side of the engine (either A or B unit). I have tested in quick drive in multiple DLC packs. I am seriously new to the sim so creating a scenario isn't on my "to do list" right now and a cursory look at the editor/builder I wasn't clear on where to select the Searchlight asset. However, given that I am not seeing the text in Feather River, Springfield Line, NY to New Haven and a few others, I suspect I screwed something up someplace.
"Buzz did a fine job on that B&M repaint."
I ended up here while doing a google search for B&M and saw Buzz's repaint which is why I ended up getting into TS2001!

In the asset list on the right side you should see SearchlightSimulations. There is a place for FeatherRiver to check. Check that and the decals on the side panels should show up. In the QD you need to go in there and do that after you start the scenario.

Hey Buzz-
I am not seeing an asset list anywhere - is there a specific screen I should be looking at?
