Question about Intermodal cars

Unread postby cnbalasub » Thu Jul 23, 2020 2:29 pm

I was wondering about creating the intermodal cars and do they have to be in order with the alphabet. As I and some members know that with Microsoft Train Simulator or Open Rails intermodal cars and we have to start with the first car then next. Look below:

Stack A
Stack C
Stack D
Stack E
Stack B

Now you see the stack car with " B " have to be last to connect the first car again with Stack Car " A " Now I wonder if that is the same with Train Simulator 2020 or not necessary. I was planning to create my own Quick Drive scenario for the recently released route of CN Yellowhead Pass.

Let me know about this.

It’s nothing to do with MSTS or TS20xx it is real life. That is how they are.

Thank you to John and the reason why I am asking is that the couplers. When I created the train consist for Open Rails and one time I created and start with A then go on till E in order then the next five with the same order and noticed that between E on the last car of 5 cars and A on the second cars of the next five cars did not match. That is why I am asking about this. So guess that I go ahead and create the train consist whichever I choose to start and go on next till the last car in total of 50 intermodal cars.

Thank you again,

John

The order is as you posted
A - C - D - E - B only A and B units have auto couplers the other units are articulated. I can’t recall whether it is the A unit which has two bogies ( trucks) or if it is the B unit but for a 5 unit set there are 6 bogies ( trucks).

I recall it's AEDCB per our usual thing, but train sim labels differ from reality.

Your memory is both younger and better than mine. I got 3 out of the 5 right. !*roll-laugh*!
