Ready to hit the tracks again

Unread postby Cardinal51 » Sun Jun 14, 2020 1:06 pm

Ahoy all,

Have not been driving for years and it is time to hit the tracks again. My previous Steam account has been lost so I need to buy new software and routes.

Do I still need to install Steam first. Or can TS2020 be enjoyed without that Steam non-sense ?

I love the US Trains so looked in to getting the Train Simulator 2020 US Edition but unfortunately that one includes 2 non-US routes. Is there any edition that features US routes only ?

First of all, are you sure your old account is really lost?
There are usually ways to get them back.

You haven't specified whether it's been lost, hacked, closed or likewise. Here's an article on account deletion - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art ... -SDKC-0716.

If you have simply forgotten your password or username, there are options to recover both.

I lost the email, several years ago, that was used for Steam.

So...You have been away long enough that you don't even know what your username is/was? If you at least know you're username, there's a chance you can reset the password and gain access. But if it also calls for the email associated with your account, you're possibly up the creek if you use more than one email and can't recall which one was used to set up you account.

I remember all, but Steam blocked my account because they did not believe it was mine. Lost a lot of DLC. I guess they do not like people traveling a lot :D

If you have been blocked by Steam, you may be unable to even set up a new account. Blocked...… Either you have been a bad boy and don't wish to say why your were blocked, or it's something else...... Moving around a lot/traveling? Wouldn't think that would be a issue. Best bet is try contact customer support for Steam and get this resolved. With hope, they reply in a timely fashion.

I agree with K man. Me and at least one other guy I know signed on from maybe 20 or 30 different locations for several years with no issues. They used to ask for a verification code regularly but that's it.

I was able to set up a new account. Got TS2020 and even already got some nice DLC.

Too bad you had to start over. But if you were able to get a new account, (seems strange you were able if you were blocked.....) I would think you would have been able to retrieve all your DLC. I would hope Steam could reference/verify all your purchases. Maybe not...…

And, If you got just a new account, and just had to reload Steam, your Steam library should still be available...…… Therefore you would have had whatever version of TS prior to your issues. You should have been able to go online, update to TS2020 and get all your DLC back. Guys, is my reasoning all wrong? If all agree, then this was one weird event for the Cardinal...…

I had a computer completely go bye bye 18 months ago. I did have to reload Steam on my new computer and then login with my account which didn't change between computers, and had to deal with that verification code due to the new computer. Had no issues reloading/updating and getting all my DLC back.

Why ?

Not sure what you mean. Do realize that I can not access that old account anymore.

I have 2 accounts on Steam which I have joined up which is called something like a family account. Have you tried joining them up? Did Steam actually say to you that you are blocked from that account because you weren't you?
