At least for me I can confirm that this is working.

JohnS - good finding that it is related to engines consisting of two (or more) parts. The Swiss Crocodile Ce 6/8 consists even of three parts !*hp*!
Am not really sure if TS Tools can handle this? Sure Dodo could fix it.

Thorsten

Yes TSTools can swap the multiple parts individually, so I need to make a swap like that I can still fall back to TSTools. Thank you for everything.

Also, my RailWorks install is not in the default location if that matters. Seems like a great easy tool to use. Thank you for creating this.

Hello John,

Sorry for the delay, I just started a master's study program and needed some time to settle down. I test LocoSwap mostly with modern German electric/diesel locos and occasionally with Kuju steam locos and tenders. I don't own Big Boy or Challenger, do you happen to know any built-in steam locos that LocoSwap has problem with? If not I'm also happy to obtain one of those two to debug the program.

Regarding the loading screen: actually I'm not aware that the loading screen is dependent on the Player loco, I thought that the loading screen was just some screenshots other players has submitted to DTG. LocoSwap does update the ScenarioProperties.xml so that the Player loco replacement is reflected on the scenario list.

Thanks,
Dodo

As it turned out, dodo0822 is no longer engaged in LocoSwap project.

The development is continued by François Licard: https://github.com/flicard

and the current version of LocoSwap is 1.5.1.0: https://github.com/flicard/LocoSwap/releases

This looks like a very good tool. Feature-wise, it seems better for swapping than the internal scenario editor, and than TS-Tools.
Years ago I was toying with the idea of coding such a tool, and I had an idea I called "swap tables", where you could tell the program to always swap this loco with this loco. You could have a swap table for any period or any location. Also the program would check the length of rolling stock.

Both these ideas are implemented in this tool.
