A new scenario pack is now available for the GN Cascadian Route (Electrified Stevens Pass):
GN Train #5
The Westbound Cascadian Spokane-Seattle Local
based on the 1954 timetable

You can download the scenario on my website (and soon also on RWA, thanks Buzz!)

This scenario has been split in three parts due to the length of the route, each of which is available in summer- and winter setting.

Besides the payware route, only freeware equipment has been used to write this scenario to ensure it can be played no matter where in the world you are.

The scenario is based on the 1954 GN public timetable. The Cascadian had just been classified as a "Streamliner", which in its case meant freshly repainted and rebuilt heavyweight equipment and a pair of F7s leading.

Your timetable is pretty tight in the east- and west ends of the route, but fairly relaxed up in the mountains where almost all of the stops are flagstops (which means you will frequently "miss" stops when you don't get flagged to stop).

This scenario is the first one released that uses the Random Flagstops script feature that we invented for the Cascadian route. That means that each time you start the scenario, you may get called to stop at different stations! Please read the scenario's PDF readme to find out more about random flagstops.

Cheers
Michael

PS... some screenshots from the summer edition of the scenario are below.

Anyone having a problem with the F7 number textures. It must be referencing something that do not have.

Doesn't seem to be an issue with the DTG one. Where is that particular model from, it looks much better

This one is apparently based on a DTM model.

**!!bang!!**
I thought I had fixed that bug ages ago... apparently not! *!embar*!

It's a simple mistake, really. All of my repaints' numbering texture blueprints link to Cesar's original model, the ATSF Warbonnet version, and not the number textures present in the repaints' folders.

I have created a quick patch that simply installs the original Warbonnet numbers to your RW. It's now included in the physics patch, please redownload this and you'll find a second .rwp in it:

My thoughts exactly when I saw MaineLines' stunning screenshot! That F7 was Cesar's very first model for Rail Simulator if I'm not mistaken. Initially I only decided to use it here because of the BNSF licensing dilemma that also affects all the GN DLC on Steam. But that DTM F7 has aged remarkably well, hasn't it?

Cheers!
Michael

Physics wise, Fan Railer has great FP7, F7, and F9 physics mods that can be easily applied:

Interesting. This may bring me back into this wonderful route. I just booted up TS today after a while.

Also, great to see we "foreigners" can now drive a F7 with GN colors.

I can't find the F-units and passenger cars I need for this scenario!
