Rolling Stock Inquiry

Since I'm on a 10k tank car mode (with many templates and photoshop layers), I was wondering if GN had any tank car fleet of their own, for this period?

If so I would appreciate any suggestion to any worthwhile link *!!thnx!!*

By the way Michael, may I have your blessing to change the tank car shape file when required (as I have done for the Clear Creek NG route).

See, now you’ve gone and opened Pandora’s Box......

If you’re going to do GN cars, then you just gotta throw in some MILW, NP, SOO, UP, ... etc., as they all used tanks similar to the OTLX car.... Gulf, DuPont, etc. too....

I can't to find the exact source now and please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the GN's tankcars were all used as fuel and water tankers for their own shops, not to transport crude oil across the mainline or for similar tasks.

(I don't mean that as any form of criticism, just something to keep in mind if one wants to be pedantic about rolling stock use in scenarios.)

Cheers
Michael

Here's one for you. !*roll-laugh*!

Buzz, you're quite hilarious - it would take me a decade to change all the million pixels to achieve the heavily weathered tanker. !*roll-laugh*!

Tanks all for your feedback, I'll put it on the back-burner as I find Greatnortherner's info to be not ''fake news''.

Rudi,
I was always fond of the Hooker Chem tanker, but I'm having a hard time locating proper fonts and logo (aside the Lionel version)

I'm still searching... !*don-know!*

Assuming you're working with layered image files when repainting, have a look at this: https://www.textures.com/category/decals/52338
The decals on Textures.com include many images that are well suited for weathering. Their transparent background makes applying them to any image really easy, so basically all one has to do is tweak colors and layer transparency until it looks just right.
