Hope this is the right forum. I have tried to play the Oriental limited scenario part 1..everything is fantastic until about 2 miles from Leavenworth when the game freezes. sound still works, but no movement. even let it just sit for about 10 minutes and nothing happens. tried it numerous times always with the same result. this is the only scenario it happens with. I can start Oriental limited part 2 at Leavenworth, no problem. any help appreciated.

This is OK but would be better if you had posted in Problems and Peculiarities. Let's see if you get a answer.

I put it here. Going to set up a support forum for this stuff.

I am having problems with Cascadian scenarios also. Don't know whether to post them here or wait.

Post them here and make it a new topic with a title.

While running the Heavy Freight scenario, it advises you to stop at Chumstick. If you do it gives you a message about returning to Leavenworth and gives you a failed scenario. Also, I am currently trying to run the Train 38 scenario and am stopped at Scenic. I cannot proceed because the switch leaving Scenic is locked due to a priority freight that is sitting several miles up the track. In my opinion, there should be no power switches on this route. I doubt that CTC or ABS was even conceived of in the days of this route. They are trying to mix train orders with CTC and it is not prototypical.

I agree and we are aware that our signaling of the mainline is not prototypical. The GN had just adopted and installed spring switches when our route is set and several sidings on our route were thus equipped in reality. However, creating a complete replica of the GN's operating procedures around passing sidings for this period proved too complicated for us to master within the confines of RW. I'm not saying that it's definitely impossible, but we certainly didn't find a way to make it work, look good and run smoothly in scenarios all at the same time. So we decided to apply some artistic license here and install the right type of signals but in a more modern way to set them up together with our "eye-candy" (but editor-operable) TO boards.

That aside, thanks everybody for posting the bug reports!

Cheers
Michael

OK, that is all well and good, but how do I finish Part 1 of the Train 38 scenario.

The Westbound Manifest will not start. Most likely cause is that the signal at the west end of track 3 is showing caution. The game seems to be erratic on the start up of AI on a caution signal. Some time it will and some times it will not. Start time is listed as 6:05 and has not started as of 6:35. The only way I can see to fix this with the installed signals is to extend the path of the Manifest AI so that the track signal would then show proceed. This may affect the player train so the AI start time may also need to be changed.

Tried a different approach to the issue. I moved the AI consist, Westbound Manifest, east until the lead engine was clear of the entry signal to the yard. The AI started on time but game ended with a derailment ' consist tilt'.

Sorry about the issues. The scenarios published with the route were beta tested, but they are more scripted than is usual and may be causing problems not seen in testing. I do hope that the scenarios are not diminishing the enjoyment of the route.
As soon as I update a new computer for TS, I will be reviewing all of the scenario issued with the route from the RWA source files and if necessary issuing a patch.

Not at all. although I've had the issues others have mentioned also, am still enjoying this route immensely and am looking forward to the release of the Everett to Skykomish leg.

The most likely cause of this problem for anyone experiencing it is: passing a stop ( all red ) signal with an AI train occupying the next block. If this were set up as a career scenario, you would have been "booted" from the scenario, but since this is a Standard type it results in the AI train ahead essentially freezing. This is a built in function of the TS software, which was not programmed around when the scenario set was developed. You may encounter this in any of the provided scenarios.

Prior to Chumstick you should have passed a yellow signal. A previous message advised you that you would encounter a stopping passenger train beyond Leavenworth. On seeing the yellow signal it will be necessary to reduce speed significantly to avoid stopping at grade. It does appear that in final editing a message delivered near Leavenworth was altered. You must avoid stopping anywhere on the Chumstick grade.

*!!thnx!!* Thanks for allowing us to correct this for future purchasers of the route.

I'm having this same problem, even after installing the Scenario patch. The problem is, it is a stop command on the task list instead of a go Via. So if you follow what the game tells you and stop next to the station, you fail.
