Does Marias Pass include "USA Loco and Asset Pack"?

Unread postby wacampbell » Sat Oct 05, 2013 11:18 am

I am doing some Marias Pass scenarios and want to be sure to use only the default stock. Would a new user, buying Marias Pass, also automatically get the "USA Loco and Asset Pack"? I know the USA pack is included with some downloads, ie Ohio Steel, but is that pack part of the Marias Pass download also?

PS - How does one pronounce Marias Pass? Is it as in Mariah Carey, or is it more like Merry As santa claus :-).

I don't think so. Marias was made after TS13 was released, when the US Loco & Asset pack no longer became default in Railworks and used with American route add-ons. Pretty much all of the rolling stock that comes with the route is labeled with "MP" before it, so you should be able to tell it from the rest.

This answer is a bit late...
Cajon Pass has the default U.S. Assets and is usually cheaper on sale than buying the U.S. assets.

Ah! Sump'n like Cajon being pronounce "Kah-HONE", and not "CAY-jun".

I live in Dartmouth, right across the harbour from Halifax, in Nova Scotia. If somebody calls and says "Dartmouth" the way they think it should be pronounced, we can immediately tell they're "From Away". The locals here pronounce it with ALL of the vowels yanked-out. But then, just about every spot has its local-isms.

All of them? Are you sure? If so, what are they and how does one know what is and is not standard or default? !*don-know!*

All of the All Aboard routes contain both US and UK asset packages. It used to say that in the route's descriptions.

I came across this list somewhere... I have no way to confirm that what the writer says is correct nor do I know for sure that these routes contain BOTH the US and UK assets. Buying the 2012 package is a suggestion I added after someone else said they got theirs this way. There are posts on Steam about how to install the 2012 then upgrade to restore your Steam purchases... I've never done it... just offering some options...

"New users to TS2014 and future versions will need the old default US and EU asset packs contained in older Railworks versions or Train Simulator 2012. They can be purchased separately at Steam but the better bargain is to purchase any one of these routes:

West Coast Mainline North,
Ohio Steel 2,
Cologne-Dusseldorf,
Portland Terminal,
Portsmouth Direct Line,
Rascal and Cottonwood,
Colton and Northern,
Fort Kent to Eagle Lake.
Northeast Corridor
Donner Pass
Cajon Pass

Or, buy a previous version of Railworks for a few dollars at places like this:
