Phantom blueprint lingering

Unread postby OldProf » Mon Apr 11, 2016 6:34 pm

Some time ago, I wrote a shunting scenario featuring the Ford plant on the London-Faversham High Speed route. I wanted to use some automobile haulers, but none were available from DTG, so I settled for a wagon available from JustTrains and uploaded to scenario here, where it still resides.
Recently, I spotted some German auto haulers among the Workshop products from DTG and decided to buy them, edit my scenario to use them instead of the JT product, and upload the result to Steam Workshop. After swapping the rolling stock, I deleted the JT product from the scenario and tried uploading it to Steam Workshop, but an error popped up: "Scenario uses unrecognized blueprint set: JustTrains\IPA". That blueprint set is no longer checked in my scenario, but the error won't go away.
So, I'm hoping that someone can tell me where to hunt for that persistent blueprint reference among the scenario's files. I really don't want to have to completely recreate my scenario just to get rid of it.

Thanks in advance,

!!howdy!!

No idea if it was in any way similar to the issue you are describing, but when Steam/RW refused to accept one of my scenarios with this dreaded error message a while ago, it helped to simply clone the scenario with the in-game tools and then upload the clone. No idea why that worked, but it did.

/Edit: Did you uncheck the troublesome product fliter in the scenario's active products list (or delete it from the properties xml)? I usually forget to do that after changing rolling stock with RW_Tools.

Cheers

Thanks for the idea, Michael -- I'll give cloning a try. Oh, and yes, I did uncheck the filter; in fact, I had to do so several times to make it work. I've also ordered up a verification, which may or may not help.

!!howdy!!

EDIT: cloning the scenario, unfortunately, did not work--I'm still seeing the same error message. I took a look at the scenario's ScenarioProperties.xml file -- the blueprint set that is supposedly keeping the scenario from being published is not mentioned anywhere in that file! *!rolleyes!* !*don-know!*

I'd very much like to try Bob's trick, but cannot get the London Faversham High Speed route to show up in RW Tools. I tried unpacking the route and scenarios AP files. The little blue spinner just kept spinning for hours and hours (while I did other things, checking from time to time) without -- apparently -- anything being achieved.

Maybe I should just give up on this idea?

You shouldn't have to unpack the whole route or scenario .ap folders Tom. Someone here taught me to just unpack the RouteProperties.xml and the ScenerioProperties.xml and leave the rest of the files in the .ap folders. RW_Tools apparently looks at those XML files. (Unless something changed yet again)

I'm actually having a similar problem uploading to the Workshop. In my case it won't let me upload a route, saying I have an unrecognized blueprint set "Assets/Kuju". Obviously Kuju has been a part of Railworks forever and there are no third party assets in my Donner Redo to begin with. !*hp*!

I wonder if our problems are related.

Probably at least second cousins. As far as I can see, RW_Tools offers to unpack only an entire AP file, not just part of one, but I find this whole AP business !*don-know!* , !*hp*! , and **!!bang!!** .

Tom,
If you have 7Zip you can tell it to open the then click on thr archive choice. Then you can highlight only the files that you chose so you don't have to unpack everything. !!det!!

AP file can also be opened with WinZip and WinRar. :D

Thanks for the information about using 7Zip to look at the content of AP files. I have searched for JustTrains\IPA, the "unrecognized blueprint set" that, according to Steam Workshop is blocking upload of my scenario, and for JustTrains and IPA alone, but those terms do not exist anywhere. The time has come to surrender and move on to other matters. Again, thanks for your help, folks.

By the way, I tried to post a question about this problem at the Steam Support site, but keep getting entangled in their "Steam Guard" run-around: they send an access code, which has to be inserted into a box and submitted. That's just dandy, but by the time the message containing the access code reaches me (my provider is ATT and possibly Steam is now located outside our galaxy), the code doesn't work. I'm trying this again now, and will edit this message if positive developments occur.

*!!thnx!!*

Edit: Believe it or not (I scarcely do), I actually managed to receive an access code, submit it, and gain entrance to the lofty heights of Steam Support, where it only took me another 10 minutes to circle around until I found out how to submit a new question. I'll keep you informed.
