Scenario editor too dark to see

I'm trying to fix AI trains that seem to have no start time assigned but everything is so blasted dark I can hardly find anything. I already fixed the time which was at 00:00 instead of the afternoon but it's as if the valleys are in total shade.

I've run into this a couple of times on different routes.

Had this problem, if it's on a newer route try changing the weather to a 3D weather. Worked for me.

Yes, of course, you can change the weather or the time of day (which might have more to do with darkness), or both; but try this first. Open the top=left flyout in the scenario editor and click the icon in the lower right corner, which provides a sort of spotlight on the area where the editor's viewing camera is located. It should provide more than enough light for you to see what you're doing.

!!howdy!!

imphantum's advice is right. This is an issue with some recent routes (most notably Soldier Summit). If you change the weather to a 3D setting, save and close, and then reopen the scenario editor you'll have no problem thereafter with that scenario.

Both, Dynamic Clouds and Dynamic Lighting have to be checked ON in Graphics Settings for better light.
I also place the Brightness ruler to the maximum

In the editor you have also the flashlight tool to help with lighting dark places.

It was Soldier Summit in particular. Do the 3d weathers have an indication by name or something? I haven't looked at them before.

Surprisingly enough, all of their names begin with "3D". If you haven't seen them before, you probably haven't scrolled far enough down the list.

Thanks for the tips, I haven't looked at the weather options at all before, only been swapping out rolling stock so far.
