Train going reverse

I created an AI scenario, and when i hit play the loco gets coupled to passenger cars but goes backwards instead of going forward to its destination. Does anyone know how to rectify this problem.

Hi,

The reason for that AI behavior is usually that the AI dispatcher just looks for the shortest path to the destination and sends the train on its way, no matter if it has to go forward or backward.

There are a few things you can do to help the dispatcher:

1) uncheck the "allow reverse" box (orange u-turn arrow icon) in the instruction on which the AI moves backwards

2) alternative to or also possible in addition to (1), insert a set of waypoint instructions (red flag icon) or additional go to instructions that are closer to the initial instruction along the path of the AI to guide the dispatcher onto a certain path of your own design
