Publishing scenarios to Steam Workshop: screenshots?

Unread postby OldProf » Wed Dec 11, 2013 3:22 pm

I've run into a problem with screenshots when publishing scenarios to Steam Workshop. Once the scenario has been accepted for publication, a screen appears where the scenario creator enters a description, indicates some of the scenario's basic characteristics, and -- supposedly -- selects a screenshot that will be displayed in the Workshop. On this page, there's a gallery of screenshots that the scenario writer has uploaded to Steam, but it does not show all of those uploaded shots. After the scenario is actually published, its page in Steam Workshop appears and offers the possibility to upload and use a different screenshot -- but the one automatically selected previously is still present as well and typically does not depict the route or the scenario.

I'm hoping that someone can tell me how to get rid of the unwanted screenshot. Thanks!

go into the scenario on the workshop then on the right lower part of the window choose edit / add images. then hoover over the image you do not want and a red arrow will appear in the top right corner of the image. click on it to delete it

Thanks for the idea, but I've already tried that. The unwanted image doesn't appear there: just the one I actually want. And let's leave Herbert out of this, okay?

Maybe he was thinking of J. Edgar.

I certainly haven't come up with an answer ... one that actually works, that is. But then, I also can't figure out why the user name and description I carefully provide with each of the scenarios I upload to SW never show up in the game.

Make your name part of the file name. Then we could just search for oldprof eh?

I use my initials RJA.

It seems Steam client capable to show very limited number of screenshots for cover choice during publishing.

So, before to upload some scenarios, I usually go to screenshot folder, and delete all of the screenshots, beside 10-15 last ones.

Obviously it's no longer possible to publish a selfmade scenario on Steam without adding a screenshot. So yeah, I took the effort and made five screenshots and it took ages to upload them to the cloud. Now that's done, and then ... they won't show up when I wanna publish the scenario. I even restarted the entire program. What else do I have to do? It's for sure, this is the first and the last scenario I've done for TS 2014 ... it was so easy back a year ago even. *sigh*
