Ummm....what you mean you don't have an account on Railroad forums?!? Click that link.....5th post on the page.....poster's screen name is "BNSF dude"...says he's from Willmar,MN......and the sig says "GE> Great Engines! Long live GE. Anthony W."

Are you not Anthony Wood with the screen name "BNSFdude" from the state of Minnesota? And apparently a GE loco foamer I'm finding out for the first time, which means technically you and I are supposed to be sworn enemies...read the first line of my sig. So when you messed up the EMDs sounds, it's all starting to make sense now. The GE mole in the EMD shop. The enemy within. You even had the balls to impregnate the SD70 locos with a GE 4-stroke's slow ramp up churning sound in the low end. Oh yeah... it's allllllll coming out now! You have some splainin' to do Lucy! !*roll-laugh*! !!bang!!

As for the 5000HP engine? I await your proof. As for first on 4000HP and AC traction motors too? Ditto. !!howdy!!

People join forums sometimes on a whim if they see a question that just beckons for them to answer or are bugged by a statement of misinformation that they feel must be corrected. They make a few posts, leave the forum and never return. That I can understand slipping one's mind. What I CAN'T understand is how you could make a whopping 418 posts there and completely forget about it?!?!? That''s more then you've made here at RWA! !!bang!!

Just a friendly reminder.... you are a member of RWA and I have the proof right here! Now don't you go forgetting! !*roll-laugh*!

Anyways... I checked that out and it appears they were first with AC motors starting in the early 1980s. The first to 4000hp? That's sketchy. I saw a site that said they were available in 1970, but doesn't give the month. CP #4744 has a build date of March 1971, but SD45X's first build date is June of 1970 with 200hp more.

So I'm gonna concede the AC traction motors at this point. Very iffy on the first to hit 4000hp and 5000hp.

My apologies. Convos kinda go little bit off topic based on the conversations made in them. In this case the thread topic pertains to a scenario having to do with the DDA40X. Someone made an incorrect statement about it's horsepower. I corrected and added that EMD could have made it even more powerful if they had wanted to at the time and the conversation drifted about HP and firsts.

I suppose I could have made a topic to discuss, but I am reluctant cuz I think sometimes TOO many topics are made and they clutter up sections. I also take into account if it's a topic tangent that can be addressed within a couple posts and then we get back on topic. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it goes longer. I also see the discussion had already stopped about the topic and what was the harm going off topic for a bit in an otherwise dead thread. I also try to bring some friendly ribbing and humor to my posts to lighten things up.

It''s just a balancing act of decisions. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Ya know what I mean? Plus I've seen for days or weeks where people stop caring about a thread and it dies. So sometimes tangents happen because the thread topic has run it's course, yet people still have something to say and it kinda goes off topic. It's a tough call sometimes. Agreed? !!**sorry**!!

When in doubt make a new topic. The worst that could happen is that it will get merged with an existing topic on the same subject.

It also seemed to me that you were beating BNSFdude over the head with an olive branch instead of just extending one to him. *!!wink!!*
