While waiting for the 'Johnny Appleseed' mod to arrive, I decided to create my first scenario for the LINC. For those who don't know, the LINC is a 41 mile branchline into the foothills of the Washington Cascade mountains. A normal operation day begins in a small yard at Minnehaha, with a string of empties to be taken to the interchange at Rye junction with the BNSF. The BNSF brings the day's loads from the Vancouver, WA yard to Rye, spots the caboose on the main to set the signals, then drops the loads and picks up the empties. Once it has the empties, it returns to the main, picks the caboose up and backs back into the Vancouver Yard. You then take the loaded cars and deliver them to your customers along the route.
The scenario starts at Rye. You've brought the empties down, and are having your second cup of coffee waiting for the BNSF to drop off your loads. So far, I have succeeded in having the AI spot the caboose where it belongs, switching the empties into the right siding and dropping them off.
This is where it falls apart. I cannot get it to pick up the empties. It acts as though they don't exist, and drives through them causing an "AI Derailment". I tried lowering the speed to 4 MPH in the siding, which avoided the collision derail, but it still tries to drive through the string of empties, finally resulting in an "AI Derailment". I'm using the 'add to rear' command to initiate the pickup.
Obviously I'm not understanding something properly. Do any of you have any ideas on what to change or try?
