Linking scenarios?

Unread postby artimrj » Tue Jan 21, 2014 5:16 pm

Found this on Steam. Claims it lets you automatically start the next scenario you have in a sequence. Was wondering if anyone has done this yet?

==========================

When you have completed both your scenarios, what you have to do first is find the scenario number for Pt 2.

Look in C/Prog86/steam/steamapps/common/railworks/content/routes. Click on the route number for WCMLN which is 00000011.
Then click scenarios, this will give you a list of all the scenarios numbers for WCMLN. The tricky bit is finding the right one for your Pt 2. Look in the date column for the newest dates and these will probably be your two scenarios, the latest date being for Pt 2, assuming you did Pt 2 last. Note this number down EXACTLY as written.

Then in editor, click on the last instruction for your player train in Pt1 (not the final destination) and at the bottom is a long box with a small square beside it. Tick that, then the long box should fill with zeros. Erase these zeros and type in the scenario number for Pt 2 again exactly as written. F 2 to save. Hopefully you got the right number and your scenarios will be linked together.

Then do a test run to see if you got the correct scenario number. Please run your test from Drive/Standard play, not from editor. If you got it right, Pt 2 should load as soon as Pt 1 ends.

Didn't try it but I remember reading about it when TS2014 came out.
Of course, I would use RW Tools to find the scenario ID, and I would cut-and-paste it instead of typing it.

But I would use namemyroute.exe to make it even simpler. ;)

Would anyone really want to start another scenario immediately though?

I still would like to know how to make a series where you have to do them in sequence. Can't play #2 until you play #1.

Oh, I've seen that somewhere.
I'm on a business trip right now and I don't have RW on my laptop, but I know there's a node in the scenario properties bin file for that.
