NA locomotive DLC with best physics/realism

I'm thinking of buying the Soldier Summit route and need a locomotive DLC since usually the DTG ones are quite low fidelity. I'm mostly interested in realistic/immersive physics and good sound, era is not that important.

For example, are there any "Pro level" SD40-2 ones, or other main line diesels?

No SD40T-2s, but we're coming out with MoPac SD40-2cs soon which ran interchange with DRGW quite a bit on coal trains.

The "pro level" marketing thing is really overstated. If it's by Mike Rennie, it's definitely a pro level addon. If RSC/DTG or most others made it, that just means it has a few extra animations instead of the main control handles and light switches. Physics are also very relative as very very few DLC's have what most consider to be realistic physics (trains not stopping on a dime and actions being more delayed). Several people have made physics enhancements on the Railworks America site to help correct the issue.

Have you played with our stuff?

I've heard a lot of good things about the sd40-2. The ac44 as much of a good job as it is, without the CMP route it's not going to be on my list of DLC to buy for a while.

I would highly recommend picking up Searchlight's UP SD40-2 bundle. Excellent locomotives, excellent sounds, excellent handling. If you're looking for a Pro series of diesel locomotives... this is it. Plus, the UP units will feel at home on most of the DTG routes, either as home road power, or as pool power.

If not having Canadian Mountain Passes is what's holding you back from getting the AC44.... IMO the scenery on CMP is not very well done, so I've found that running the AC44 on non-CP but better made routes like Marias is just as worthwhile an experience.

IMO the CP AC44 won't look out of place on the Racetrack either, as it can definitely work as foreign power out of Cicero on trains such as CSX crude oils and ethanols

Well in view of the glowing reports on Searchlight software. Went to have a look but seems their website is closed down as all links and even those on their facebook page for the store draw a blank. Have they ceased trading?

No we're just having issues with our host. We're hoping to get it back up soon.
