Hi guys, been a member on the trainsim.com forums for years. After a long absence, getting back into the hobby with TS2019 after coming over from Open Rails.


I've been digging around forever to find a soundset for the Miami P42s, but all of the ones teased on YouTube are now dead sites. I know Travis Plowman had a payware version but his site is dead and so are all the others I've found that used to have P42 sound packs.

I'd gladly PayPal Travis or anyone that can legally take money for one of those soundsets, as the DTG defaults are truly awful. Can you guys help me get in touch? Or if it's abandonware at this point, could someone send them to me? I assume they'll work fine between versions of the sim, my understanding (being new to the DTG lineup of games) is that mods are generally backwards compatible for a few years.

I bought genesis pack while now they gone I can’t get it back on my pc I feel gutted.

I got 2 a year or 2 ago. But they were both taken down. Same with a third one.

And this is why TS is going downhill we don't have much support of dlc anymore payware/freeware, some are still active but most are disappearing.

You are lost in space my friend. Searchlights SD40-2 and all their free cars, Mike Rennie's old locomotives and route, Cascadian Route, E8, plus a ton of routes and re-paints here in the library, just to mention a few things.

I have been posting on average 10 new items each week. Lots of support out there for downloads. I have 22 more to post today since I got a new keyboard.

Not at all Buzz, like I said some are still active. Yeah all that stuff is great for some, I'm looking for more modern US models/sounds etc.. Audio sounds that bring the game to life thanks to Krellnut's U.S. Freight Car Sounds and Searchlights. Thankful for all the assets that have been made for this game, but my point is just like P42 sound-sets don't exist anymore I'm seeing more and more makers of such dlc disappear or quit, I get it life changes or whatever, it happens.

I haven't been that woo'd by any of the soundpacks for the p42 that are currently available, but I kinda think the Searchlight crew ruined all other audio mods for TS or indeed most rail sims in general, because not much else sounds that realistic.

I just keep holding out for the day they decide to do a P42 soundpack!!

That and a 567 soundpack....

If you know how to modify sounds, you can apply the default Dash 8-32BWH sounds to the Miami P42.
