40ft ps-1 Boxcar Set_GNer's

Unread postby RailWanderer » Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:19 pm

I recently downloaded the golden age rails 40ft ps-1 boxcar set - installed it using the utility program
activated the greatnortherner/allegheny in the object filter and they show up in the asset browser but when I click
to select them- there is no freight car body.

This was presented before http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=19265&p=221667&hilit=Boxcar+40ft#p221667 and the answer was to copy the original Geo files from the default folder, but all the geo files come with the rwp in the default folder, so I don't get how that answer solved anything. Here's an image of the Boxcar folders on my drive:

Still these boxcars don't show in the Scenario Editor other than in the Asset Browser listings under Rolling Stock. The timing of the archived post has no real bearing on this answer also, except that its not an answer to the current file offered. Is there another offering of this set that has a better install function? Also, the answer, "it works fine for me" isn't a resolution to the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

PS: and yes I sent a message to GNer on this problem. I also forgot to mention the rwp filename: PS1-40ft-Boxcar-PRR-default.rwp

You might need to activate the Kuju folder for dependencies.

That was a shot in the dark. I just checked mine and they seem to be working although some repaints
have the missing texture blocks where the numbers go. Baffled.

That looks exactly like mine which works. Is you default Geo 352KB? And are you seeing the trucks and couplers and such?

I see nothing when selecting the car from the list, I will need to see if the couplers show as my default geo is 352kb also.

I just checked, nothing shows when selecting and nothing places on the tracks when clicked in place, no couplers, no trucks, nothing.

ok, I think I see where this is heading, I have no folders for the trucks and couplers. I will look into this Buzz, thanks for the hint.

Ok, I didn't see anything mentioning the support files with this package, but I happened to have them in my archive so I have it working now. I knew I should have just looked into the bin file for the answers. Thanks for the help guys.

There is a Trucks folder in the Freight folder and the couplers folder is in the RailVehicles folder.

Thank you gentlemen, I had the same problem but haven’t had time yet to look into it. I’ll find time later today.

This is exactly why I believe things should be shared in open forum threads, not in PMs as everyone gets to benefit from the information shared. And you are welcome John.

Except when it comes to the picking of nits. That is better done in private. For those of you not familiar with a nit that is a tiny bug who lives on a gnats behind and is mostly annoying.

Buzz
I’m sorry if you think I’m a nit picker.
This thread has helped me a lot as I have resolved my problem and my thanks to you both again.
