I had not updated my steam copy of TS2015 because of stories I read where older assets simply did not work. So I had been working with 2015 for a while now.
I am currently working on my Kansas City to St Louis route,.. the complexity, attention to detail,.. the level of detail and scenery I have been throwing at this route had been causing memory problems due to 32bit limitations. I updated to 2019 for the 64bit version to see if it helped,.. and well,.. it does,.. I can move around freely and what assets do show load much faster when moving from zone to zone. But certain assets simply do not show at all.
I'm wondering if perhaps its the way I installed them. I started collecting as far back as rail Simulator 2010. It got to the point where when I built a new computer,.. there were so many assets I would just copy/paste from old HDD to new steam install,.. copy the contents of the assets and content folder and everything was happy. Fortunately I still have TS2015 on my laptop and it is will working fine,.. except for the crashes when editing from time to time. My frustration is,.. what good is having 32gb memory and GTX1080 graphics when your limited to 32bit?
Do I need to locate the actual installs for everything to work in 2019? Or is certain content simply not working? Some of the things missing are not that old,.. I would say circa TS2015/2016 but still 3rd party assets. Bridges,.. buildings,.. loft objects. This is really frustrating.
What would you guys suggest I do? Or am I going to be stuck with TS2015? And if I am stuck with TS2015,.. then that means this route will be for just me,.. and no point in trying to share something that wont work or would be too complicated for others to get working with TS2019.
Thanks

...somethings working!!!
