I think the point is, with a game that has had 10 years to mature, the expectation is to have a little more functionality than being able to move a throttle, brake, and reverser handle. Something like Flight Sim for example where every little doohickey in the cockpit is functional and can make the game so complex you basically need to be a pilot to know how it all works; whereas at the basic level if you can find the throttles, flaps, gear lever, and control yoke you'd be all set.

I for one and excited we are getting anything from this era.

I feel like my Sherman backdate may be in need of a revamp with assets from this!

This is gonna be a stellar route for #844.......

Excited to have some more prototypical terrain to run that Smokebox model through, along with the other big steamers!

DTG's promo tells us:-

At Devil’s Slide in Weber Canyon, UP 4-6-6-4 3977 pounds out of twin tunnels

Now that is a really clever trick... !*roll-laugh*!

Feel a big *!sad!* for Mike. He is a third of the way into his Big Boy project, and DTG come along with this route. Those that are really into his work will undoubtedly buy his release, but I think the fact that a Big Boy model is included in the route will effect his sales.

Have to support the independent modelers because without them, all we have is DTG, and they have never displayed a big steam focus.

For the first time unfortunately, this wont be a first day buy in, but it is definitely on the MUST buy list :D

!*cheers*!

As has been pointed out, this route is a third-party development (Milepost Simulations) using the existing DTG Big Boy and Challenger (with modifications).

As for impact on Mike's future Big Boy, if anything the route will likely enhance its sales potential, as the route is ideal (and period appropriate) for the Big Boy. It was, after all, the eastbound Wasatch Grade which largely determined the specifications for the Big Boy (e.g., to operate without helper between Ogden and Green River).

Haven't you been reading previous posts? This isn't a DTG route but one done by Milepost Simulations.

This is a bit outside my normal swim lane but looks like it might be a good opportunity for my first foray into a steam route.
