Thank you @RailWanderer for bringing this thread to my attention. It seems that everything got resolved in the end but I must admit I'm still a bit confused, is there something which I should address in the installer package of the 40 ft cars on my website or was it all down to other installation issues?

Please let me know if there's anything that ought to be changed.

Thanks!

To tell the truth, I would have to blame this on myself, but as I said I don't remember reading anything in the instructions that said anything about the couplers and bogeys needed to be installed separately. More than likely I either over looked it, or I'll blame it on being older as sometimes the memory has a way of forgetting things quickly now. I can't be positive about what it may have been Michael.

I do know that if I had drilled down into the default bin file I would have had my answer, but then I wouldn't have helped others out who have had the same problems. So, I will stick to my story about not reading anything mentioning the couplers and bogeys needing to be installed separately.

It was probably one of those oversights when using standard forms, you know, fill in the blanks and shove it out the door. Anyway, that's my take on it. Thanks for responding.

Thanks for the quick response! That makes very much sense to me now.

I knew that this seemingly clever idea of setting up the "Shared Files" installer was going to cause trouble in some way or another. **!!bang!!** Let me blame it on my bandwith not being unlimited back then and me trying to squeeze a bit more traffic out of my hosting contract. *!embar*!

Cheers

Hi,

The "default" car(s) should be the PRR pack from this page: http://golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/box40ps1.html

Hi Michael,
thanks for the reply, find below in the attachment, what I get on downloading the PR Version (PS1-40ft-Boxcar-PennCentralTS15.zip).
My version on downloading does'nt contain a "default folder".
Note the path as shown in the attachment, it's where I expected to find a "Default" vehicle folder.

The PRR one is the default I believe.

Hi,
Ah, that's the wrong file. Which link are you clicking? The "default" (PRR) cars should come up if you click on the "Download the Repaint Kit Pack" line near the bottom of the page (next to the image of the brown PRR car). I realize now that may be a bit confusingly worded on my website but I don't know how else to put it (the PRR car is the repaint kit).

Cheers

My problem was missing the "Shared Files" zip as it was near the sound wave image and lead me to think the "Shared Files" zip was a "shared sound" zip as nothing stated that the needed couplers and bogeys(trucks) were in that zip. It might have been better to state that the rest of the components needed for install are in the "Shared Files" zip. It reads: "The Shared Files are required to run any of the repaints below, but need to be installed only once." which led me to believe the files were only for the repaint procedure, which I didn't think I would need to just run the cars. Sometimes we read things and ignore what is actually said. I was always told when explaining something to someone, whether experienced or not, you need to think they are not knowledgeable of anything concerned. Maybe it should read: "The Shared Files are required as they contain additional components to run any of the repaint cars below, but need to be installed only once." Just my thoughts. The cars are great and I love them, I just had a brain lapse and needed a spark that the forum gave me to get the cars on track.

Thanks for all you do Michael.

Hi Michael,
my bad, I just thought that file was for people who wanted to repaint the box cars to their own desired design. An ability way beyond my capabilitys.
