cnwfan wrote:Like others Mike, I just want to express my thanks and sincere gratitude for all the work and support you have given to RW_Tools. There are so many aspects to this simulator that were opened up thanks to your program. I can't even imagine doing a repaint without RW_Tools... or editing scenarios... or creating scenarios... or unpacking .ap files... and so on.

But I'm going to go out even further here. I believe DTG owes you a debt of gratitude for RW_Tools. I truly believe that your tool set spurred 3rd party developers, repainters, and scenario creators to keep developing content for the sim... which kept the sim alive during it's darker early days. Without RW_Tools, I believe TS wouldn't have the loyal following it has today, and more than likely would have ceased production years ago. If anyone from DTG is reading this, please reach out to Mike and say thank you.

I could NOT have said it better, thus I also share my recognition and ThankYou Mike. *!!thnx!!*

I may be on a limb here, but could this great site (Railworks America) place a copy of RW_Tools in its archive? A tool that cannot be lost ...

I agree totally with cnwfan, he has put it better than I did or could.

No problem with this, if Mike allows it.

Many thanks to all of you who have commented on my programs, they have kept me busy for a while now (I started on Route_Riter in 1999, so 20 years :-) ).

I will post the latest full version on a couple of sites so that it is still available when my site eventually is closed down, probably here and uktrainsim - I think a couple of the European sites also have a copy as well.

Mike, thank you for your epic efforts in providing the community with the greatest thing in simulation railroading since man first put the electronic pixel to use.

Also I applaud your stellar commitment to provide answers and advice to those of us who make up the uninitiated masses (including myself).

Today we stand tall because we take foot on the shoulders of giants, like yourself, who have given so much to the community. **!!bow!!**

Mike,

Many others have already said it and I want to repeat it: *!!thnx!!*

Route Riter and RS/RW Tools have made modding MSTS and RS/RW/TS so much better, more flexible, more reliable. The numerous and powerful automated processes, the many tools to check for issues or missing items, the file/content conversion tools -- and not to forget the multi-file search/replace function. In short, I'm convinced that your programs have saved many hairs the fate of being pulled out from many train simmers' scalps.

You mentioned you were planning to retire your website in the forseeable future which I fully understand. That also means that there are still a few months left where we can go to the link below and leave a few **!!2cents!!** in your cookie jar:
