Ohio Steel2 Black Blocks etc

Unread postby JohnT » Wed Jan 09, 2019 1:11 pm

Hi Buzz,
Just gone back to Ohio Steel and noticed this rendering of black blocks and moving grey walls. Searching on the internet revealed you had at one time placed a patch on line to fix this, i.e modifying some RSDL files via https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D6076927_62669624_7235192. This link however does not work at this date, is the fix still viable and if so, can it still be obtained?

Thanks in anticipation. Regards JohnT

John T,
This is the file Buzz posted 3 years ago and that was located in that failed link.
I am splitting it in two parts due to the maximum allowed size of 2mb upload per file (in the forum posts).
Extract both contents inside the folder indicated in the txt file included in part 1 (describes what Buzz wrote at that time).

Ohio Rail Fix.part1.rar

Ohio Rail Fix.part2.rar

Hi Jalsina,
thank you for your assistance, much appreciated.
Albeit a funny thing happened on trying to extract the files. The attachments show what happened using 7zip.On initially opening the file - got the message as shown in (attach ....7zipopened.jpg). When looking further into the files (....7zipextraction.jpg) note that lionaG.TgPcDx is shown as 0 KB.
Could find no way around this until I tried using windows extraction and this time lionaG.TgPcDx = 343 KB.

Ah well now to try it.

Thanks yet again.

Regards JohnT

I used Winrar to do the zipping and split.
What I could do is preparing a unique .zip (using Winrar) (to keep it for the future) and send it to you guys, via email. The compressed file is about 3 or 4 mb.
Just PM me and include your email.

Just tried opening the two files by using 7Z and both did open without any error whatsoever. !*don-know!*

Where are these black anomalies noticeable? I play this route at least once a week and I haven't found this glitch. Not saying its not there, but if there is a certain place they show up I would like to find it and use these files to make modifications. Thanks.

Railwanderer,
these graphic glitches made themselves viisible on my trying the first scenarios. 01 Stone Creek Pick-up,02 Return to Stone Creek etc. They appeared whenever motorised traffic was being displayed, e.g track running alongside the motorway. I think I read somewhere, i.e earlier post's on this forum, it was due to some early RSDL assets causing the problem.
The fact you have not seen them, can to my mind be due to the reason, you have long ago installed this patch or the route has been modified in the interim. You could not fail to be aware of them no matter which scenario you were operating.

It looks like the glitch hasn´t been experienced by everybody and I don´t know what triggers those ugly polygons in cars moving along roads. Probably a problem located in their Geo´s.

Here is my post (thread) in Steam, back in 2015, with several screenshots when I had the problem but not the solution:

!*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!

You provided a link to a set of replacement vehicle files that fixed the glitch for a lot of people.
Many have benefited from that post you published that day four years ago, in response to my message asking for help. :D
I have never seen anyone else providing a different solution, here or in Steam, including Rich Garber. Who was the original author? May be Rich, may be someone else.
