TS2018 v60b1

Unread postby _o_OOOO_oo-Kanawha » Thu Nov 16, 2017 1:34 pm

Steam just downloaded 799MB of TS2018.

Dovetial Live log in screen now also present in TS2018, but can be skipped.

My game got a new routes?
00000072 Pensinsula Corridor
And new trains?
CalTrain
BR442Pack01

I suppose the new content depends on what you already have, since the North Wales Coast route isn't included in the base upgrade.

Now where is the change log?

BR442Pack01, Mittenwald, OBB2016Pack01 and Caltrain route. Don't know why it downloaded the 2 routes as I already had them.

I know Caltrain had bug fixes. Possibly the other DLC did too.

What happens if you use a desktop shortcut or start the program from the main folder? Did you allow the update to fully download?
Cheers!

I've always used a desktop/taskbar shortcut to start the Utilities and Railworks. I monkey around with the innards of the program and have so much stuff, there is no telling what is going on. It looks like it's time to wipe and revalidate.

Solution found, posted for future reference in case anyone else gets hit by it.

The problem with the above error seems to stem from Windows 10. For some reason, Steam/Railworks/ TS2018, whatever, doesn't like my M.2 drive. I don't know whether it was the move to that drive and the fact that I did not reinstall windows or what, but anyway that is the cause. The main fix would be to reinstall Windows 10, then Steam and Railworks. Not going to do that since it would take days to get everything up and running again. So, workaround solution is as follows:

- Create a backup folder on another drive, and copy the entire contents of the Railworks folder to it.
- Right click on the "BlueprintEditor2" and chose "Pin to Taskbar".
- Open the BP Editor, click on the tabs until you see "Options".
- Put in the real path to your Railworks installation.
- Do the same for the "Utilities" application if you want to pull up the BPE2 through that program.

The one caveat is that you won't be able to use the Package Manager from the copied Railworks install. You will need to use the Utilities manager from the actual install to do that.
