This is a more tricky part of operations, that perhaps could have been made more intuitive.
While seated at the control desk of the AC4400 press Left Arrow key and the IFD will come in full view
Notice you can now clearly read the "Touch Screen" buttons on the IFD screen.
Press the Right Mouse button to toggle between "Target Dot" and "IFD" mode
Notice when you move your mouse over the top row of brighter yellow keys below the screen, there will appear a gizmo "IFD Function 1 thru 8" and
when you move your mouse over the bottom row of darker yellow keys, there will appear a gizmo "IFD Digit 0 thru 9"
The actual operation of the touch screen is done by pressing the keys (a right mouse click).
The function of each of the yellow keys corresponds with the light blue touch screen button in the screen, and they change with the feature selected:
Here is the default layout after giving the IFD your focus of attention:
Press 1 "IFD Digit 1" key to bring up the air brake adjustment screen:
Adjust the values by pressing the yellow keys corresponding with the blue touch screen buttons, top or bottom row, F8 "IFD Function 8" closes the air brake menu
Press F3 "IFD Function 3" key to bring up the Measured Mile screen:
Apparently unavailable at the moment but notice the Lead Sand and Trainline Sand buttons (to be continued how these work). F8 "IFD Function 8" closes the menu
Press 4 "IFD Digit 4" key to bring up the Distance Measurement screen:
Adjust the setting using the yellow keys corresponding with the blue touch screen button, F8 "IFD Function 8" closes the menu.
To be continued
