I'm trying to do Hamer's End of Shift scenario for TSW:CSX, found in the Steam Community Guide section. It requires spawning at midnight, total dark. I can't seen anything but the far off lights on the locomotive, I walk to it, still in total dark manage to find the ladder to get up, even manage to feel my way into the cab - still total dark. None of the key commands work, can't use the 'I' key to turn on the dashboard, and so forth. No headlights.
How on Earth can I do this scenario starting in the total dark?

I'd mention this to the author of the scenario. I've communicated with him on a problem I had and he got back to me immediately.
Its great getting new scenarios.

Hamer was kind enough to respond to me also, indicating that the 'L' key is a flashlight. I did not know that. It is also used to turn on the cab lights if sitting in the driver's seat.

Some of the things available in TSW are really quite amazing -- and mostly undocumented in the official users manual. Isn't there a section of the TSW forum dedicated to such goodies?

Have you checked Rudolf's T$W Starters Guide? Here:
http://www.hollandhiking.nl/trainsimulator/Perhaps we could help improving this already quite comprehensive document, proofreading (Rudolf is from The Netherlands, like me, and we get taught UK English in school), correcting the inevitable small errors and helping to expand it into the Definite Players Guide to all things Train Sim World?
