I've been playing around with the route builder, putting terrain in, getting markers to work. I'm figuring it out slowly. I've been mostly playing with a little route in my area. It follows a river for the most part. My question is, its quite curvy and I can't seem to make the curves needed. So I took the terrain out to give me a big flat area to work with, but still can't seem to get a curve for this and many other sections, theres a couple even a little sharper than this. Is it possible or not? Maybe I've just not played around enough to find out how to do this.

You can get a good curve in spite of the jittery markers as the spline track will naturally curve smoothly. Just select a few points of your marker curve to make sure you track hits the center of those and you'll get a good curve. If you mean accuracy then the best way to go is using RWDecal http://www.rwdecal.co.uk/index.php

RWDecal is a great program and a great timesaver in many ways as you'll learn uses for it not advertised by the author. It's very easy to use. Here's a quick snapshot of an area with RWDecal applied.



I'm not in an area where the track curves. But you just lay the track right on over the decal and you just can't get a better solution. Afterwards the decal is great for placing things. Railworks is great for the multiple marker files you can setup. RWDecal coupled with that advantage, helps a lot.

Do you mean that the turning radius is not small enough for how you need it? If so, you need to create a new trackrule.

Or edit the one you're currently using.

Some track sets, when you select a type, then open the right pullout, there is a 'Yard' option available. Selecting 'Yard' will allow much sharper curves than the 'Mainline' selection. What track type are you using?

Thanks everyone. I got different track rules and it swung right around those sharp curves.
