Changing the stock route location names in a cloned route

I was wondering if it is possible to replace or edit the location names in the Scenario Editor. I cloned the castle rock and in the editor when I want to make a new scenario I still have the stock locations such as monument, lakespur, and castle Rock, and route origin. I have searched thru the file structure of the route and can find no reference. I wanted to edit the names of these locations to reflect the changes I have made to the route.

There are two kinds of destination markers:
1- Route destination markers, that are created with the route editor; and
2- Scenario destinations markers, that are created with the scenario editor.

You have to determine which kind arethose you want to edit, then use the appropriate editor.

Neither the route editor or the scenario editor will allow me to edit these. They were created when the route was created. I can add destination markers or scenario markers but I can not find a way to remove these from showing up when I am in the scenario editor. They must be listed in a file some where in the folder structure but I can not find them. Thank you for your reply.

Most likely these are route markers. You can change them, but to do so without breaking the original CastleRock route will be difficult at best.

This is because the file that references the names is CastleRock_Places.dcsv

This file is called by CastleRock_Places.bin

Both files reside in: railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RouteMarkers\

The original and the cloned version of the route will both reference these files, so editing one will affect both.

Thank You Sir. I do not run the Castle Rock anymore so if I backed it up for later re installation? I might be able to accomplish what I want to do. I always have trouble when it comes to editing files.

Yes, actually you should only need to back up the CastleRock_Places.dcsv file. The original route likely will be broken, but if you don't run it, that's of no concern. Keep in mind: each time there is a new version of TS2013/ 2014 your edited file will probably get written over. Also, an edit like this is best for personal use.

If you are simply re-naming the listed locations, you can easily edit the file with notepad (after making a back-up)

If you are making new locations within the context of the existing route things get a bit trickier.
