Well, I am trying my hand a building a route. I have been learning mostly through trial an error and reading all the tutorials and tips I can find.
I started with a small route as this seemed like a prudent way to start small and work your way up. I am modeling the Thousand Island Railway, which is 4 miles long and figured by doing this I could teach myself route building. I am using the MSTS route by Paul Charland (he is aware) as my blueprint. I have created the route and imported my DEM files and decals using ReDEM and ReDECAL respectively. Was starting by blocking and some general terrain objects, but have run into something I cannot resolve. Water! This route starts by one of the great lakes (Ontario) and progress along a river. The problem is I can use the lake water asset for the large lake, but doesn't work for incline terrain for rivers. I can use generic river water (Track object) for doing the rivers, but the river flows into the lake and I cannot get the colors to match. I would love to use the lake water object for the rivers. Is there a way to use the lake water object for a incline river?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards, Gerry
