Not sure if this can be done like in Trainz. Wonder if anyone has done this or tried to do it.
This would be great if it can be done. There are so many nice routes that could be combined.

Thanks,
Bob

Someone at the other web site tried and it worked sort of. He did the CSX Mainline with the Connelsville one. The reason it sorta worked is because they are both in the same longitude and latitude. You could never merge say Cajon Pass and the NEC as they are too far a part.

In other words he got real lucky.

Each route has a starting location, when you merge you then have 2 starting location and that does not work.

I still don't understand why anyone wants to do this. After about a hour or so I need a break normally. Why would you want to run for 12 hours or more?

Not sure that current PCs could handle 300+ mile routes; I recall not that long ago when a few couldn't run the original WCML (~100 miles) until Keith cleaned it up a bit by reducing the clutter. Besides, I'm with Buzz, who wants to breach hog law (12 hour crew work limit)? I'm finding that even on the ninety minute runs I'm pausing/saving and walking away for a java halfway through !!jabber!! You can 'link' the systems we have through scenario design anyway...you can use the description area to set the scene "After an hours wait the radio crackles to life and the RTC gives you a new track warrant that allows you to proceed..." !!howdy!!

Just a thought. I would like to merge some small routes with the Chicago Yard so the trains would have somewhere to go.
No problem I will just add more tracks and scenery myself. That's part of the fun.
Thanks, guys.
