I got all the nifty SRTM data in for a route after practicing on a flat world to learn about the editor, but now I can not for the life of me get an area flat at elevation. I end up with ripples. Can anyone give me any tips on making an area flat?
ANd while I am at it, what good is the level tool? It makes a shaft to altitude 0 :(
This route editor is really awesome!

This is what I do. I click on the level tool and move close to the ground and read the elevation number, in the middle bottom of the screen I think. Then I change the elevation number in the left fly out to that number and then move the cursor around to level the ground to this elevation number.

Just set the "level" operation to something other than zero, make it the height you need it to be at.

Thanks guys! Looks like I was looking in the right place but didn't know what to do with what I had. Gotta go try it out some.

Move the DEM to a temporary folder, and then fly around the route hitting the 'T' key, else simply blow-out the route's terrain folder (terrain textures and objects are safe in another directory).

I dont want the whole world flat Marc, just areas. After what these two guys told me I have it figured out. I had the level tool set to 0 instead of 323.5, now I have flat areas for my yard and industry. It helps to know what your doing and I didnt.
