Starting over with RW Decal?

When I first started using the program,I used the corner markers, and manually placed and rotated them. Then I tried the automatic rotation. I have since gathered that the center markers are the way to go. SO what is the best way to delete all of these decal markers and decals I have, and start over, using center markers?I want them cleared out of the menu. I know I can just delete the decal in edit mode, but i dont want trouble when I create new ones. I initially only created decals for a fraction of my route, about 30 I would say. I hope this question is clear.

Far easier to allow RW_Decal to regenerate the decals you have than to go back and reset by hand. I made the same mistake and ran the program again.

Right now I have multiple markers overlapping from where I created 2 times for the same area. Before I go into the RW folder or RW Decal and start deleting,is there a procedure I should follow? If I just run the program again,I think I will have even more markers in the same area. I know I can name the created decals a different name than previously used. But I will admit, its been a year and a half since I last ran RW Decal. So I am a bit rusty.

You can delete the Assets\<your add-on>\Environment\Terrain\Decals folder and then regenerate the files from RW_Decals. :D

Overlapping markers are a problem. On my SETexas route when I started laying out multiple paths for a complete RR system for Houston, I run the program to establish a main line. Then using the polygons generated, positioned the start of the next path so that it would not put the decal over the existing path polygon.. Worked pretty good, but still have some problems due to closeness of the paths. I wrote a short procedure on how to do this. It was posted on NERW forum.

Hack, thanks for that. I admit I have not looked through the files to look at the decals and markers since I last ran the program. Where will the generated markers be found? Also, thanks Dave,I will head over to the NERW forums, and find your post.

Don't forget that there's an option in RWDecal to remove decals from your route. Under the File menu, Remove Decals. Saves quite a lot of faffing about.

Cheers

To remove the decals (not the markers) you are best to delete them from within the route editor or let RWDecal do it for you. The option is in the file menu.

If you wish to physically delete the decal files after removing them from the route (using the editor or RWDecal as above) then delete the folder as indicated in the previous posts but with a slight correction:

Assets\<your provider name>\<your product name>\Environment\Terrain\Decals

This does NOT remove the markers. They are located in the following folder:
Assets\<your provider name>\<your product name>\RouteMarkers\Decals

Hope that helps.

Jim (author of RWDecal).

Thanks for the answers. That should be all I need to clear out the old,and add new decals. Jim,it's good to see you read the RWA forum, thank you for the program! Joe
