Hey guys. Are there any airport runway models for RW? That would be a must have. The route I am designing, goes past at least 3 or 4 airports, and I would like to have a realistic looking airport, with animated moving airplanes. (I think Ian did this with his Seattle sub, but I am not sure.) I need something that I can re-distribute for free, if possible.
Thanks guys!

Ian has one, but it would be another payware thingy I bet.

This route is a must have. The BNSF Seattle Subdivision mainline runs for a few miles along a major airport.
Lots of jets and hangers. Only wish I could hear the jets flying overhead.

If they are set up on Vehicle paths, one could have each vehicle have a "jet sound".

they are but i couldnt get sound to work. but I think I figured it out since I can obviously get locos with sound to work. so it will be available with the final release or maybe i'll get it out in a mini update. we'll see ;)

What about randomized and animated marine traffic? I don't suppose we could convince Ian to release a couple of has assets in the rough price range as an MP3 download?

You realize that we already have a bunch of freeware boats around. All you need to do is add them to a traffic ribbon.

No. I did not know about the boats. But thanks for the info! Can you do a traffic ribbon with planes?

You can do traffic ribbons with houses and trees if you like
Its essentially a child object to the ribbon.

Sound is easy to set up for traffic ribbons too.

Saweet! IS there any short-cut to getting a traffic ribbon to follow a road network?

Make sure your road is a continuous ribbon up to 1000m (no nodes) and use the offset tool. I offset by 0.1

Search my blog (I am on my phone right now) loft for your children ... or something like that. It will walk you through how to offset assets.
