Sound attenuation

What exactly controls attenuation? I've tried everything I can to establish a realistic sound fade/distance for the SMMDigital crossing bells but they only fade to a point then stay the same until the cut the cut off eg. Activation distance set to 1000 and attentuation set to 1000 = Nice initial fade of sound until about 500m then no more fading. Sound cuts out at 1000m. Is there a controller file for attenuation that I can adjust?

I made these up for you, but didn't try them. Please let me know if they worked how you would like, or if they worked at all. I can also make the distance further if this is not enough.

Cheers krellnut !!*ok*!! The distances are far too great. I'm looking for a fade to complete silence at about 1000m max.

Howcome AttenuationStartDist is greater than no further NoFutherAttenuationDist? Seems like a paradox to me !*don-know!*

It isn't, count the zeros. I'll keep playing with the values to see if I can get it where you like.

Right you are! I'm going blind from too much time spent in editor. I got vertigo the other day after a 5 hour session !*roll-laugh*! Why wouldn't attenuation start at say 0.1 and finish at the activation distance? I struggle to understand RSC logic. MSTS sound editing was far easier than this.
