ReDem Terrain loading problem

Unread postby thebigroyboyski » Wed May 23, 2012 9:31 am

Hey Everyone i hope someone could help me with a problem i'm having.
I've got my data from the usgs site and tried to load it with ReDem(payed version). The problem i'm having is that it has only loaded a handfull of terrain tiles that are only in the background of my route and they are just spread out randomly. I know my coordinates are ok as the marker path i've used is on the ground at the start position and it's the same one i used for ReDem. I have over 800 bin files for the terrain and have checked a good few of them with rwtools and they seem to be complete.
i've also checked the original bil file in microdem and it shows up fine.
Out of shear frustration i even tried converting the bil to hgt to load it that way but it didn't work either.
Any help would be much appriciated.
Thanks
Roy

Maybe the original download from the USGS server is corrupt which results in some of your .bin terrain tiles being of elevation 0. Only because there are .bin files doesn't mean they don't have a zero value.

I would try to redownload the terrain data.

I got back to my route today and after verifiying the cache 3 times my mountains appeared and i have my terrain *!greengrin!*
Time to go and lay some track.
Frontrunner in the file library now!
