Looking for some American clutter scenery items.

Discussion about RailWorks route design.

Looking for some American clutter scenery items.

Unread postby ex-railwayman » Sun May 06, 2012 5:24 am

Howdy folks, just wondered if anyone knows if there are any items of scenery, what we Brits call clutter, available to download freely anywhere, please. I'm looking for simple things to place on my layouts that I have installed, such as a transparent phone box (booth), wall mounted phone booth, newspaper stand (USA Today, etc), any animals (racoon, skunk, coyote, moose, etc), a police car cruiser, or, SWAT vehicle, firetruck (modern-ish), there doesn't appear to be too many American items around, only in some Payware routes, so, thought I'd ask you lovely experts if you can help me out at all.

Most of the American clutter I've come across has been created by route developers and only comes with the routes.

I think this should be in the Route Design forum, so I moved it.

Any pictures of what you'd like, such as the newspaper stand. I might build some of them.

Why are there no just normal mailboxes? They are extremely common across Canada, the US, Mexico, and maybe even other countries! I think it would make small towns look much more realistic if we could have some basic wood pole, metal mailboxes.

Can you post me some pictures of mail boxes and other clutter items. I'll build them soon.

In small towns these are on most street corners/were more common in the mid 20th century when people used the mail more.

Yes, in fact this mailbox is better then one I could have made. Will you be releasing it.

Once I have finished the Power Line lofts, I'll throw together a set of rural mailboxes and upload them to the F/L. Clutter items like that are pretty simple to make.

Myself, I'm better at building buildings then any clutter item like this that requires special texturing.

Perhaps I will leave these mailboxes and news stands to spec and I will continue to fill in scenes from the big city. And also later I'll be building some more vintage houses.

By the way, any pictures for a vintage news stand.

How about wheel barrow, bbq, cloths lines, plows, swings, old cars, picnic tables, etc.

I forget if its COA or PT that has the play ground items. I think PT has the USPS blue mail box.
