Route terrain help

Unread postby Shayfan1 » Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:59 pm

I have followed I think all the steps to do this. I converted the markers with RW Tools. Selected my area in Redem and downloaded it. Now I put all of this into Redem to create the tiles hit create. When done I open up RW clear the cache go to the editor and select my rt only to find it flat as a pancake! I have tried to keep this breif to see if someone can help if so I will go into more detail. I'm starting to lose faith in my abilaty to follow directions. Can anyone help? Thanks

Did you move the terrain tiles into your route folder?

I'm having the same problem with my tile files as Shayfan1 is. I have all the converted files, moved them into the Railworks\Content\Routes\(My Route)\Terrain folder and nothing. Am I missing a critical step here? **conf**!

Thanks.

That is the correct folder.

Do you own RWTools? If so open up one of the BIN files and make sure you have information like this inside them:

Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<cRecordSet xmlns:d="http://www.kuju.com/TnT/2003/Delta" d:version="1.0" d:id="814010424">

What you are looking for is a 'blob' which is all zeros '0000000000000000'. This means that ReDem did not convert anything from the BIL, or the BIL is corrupt (most likely).

IF you see data in the 'blob' then perhaps your starting location is off in the wild (this happened to me). In which case you will need to plug in some long and lat numbers into your compass (top fly out) and jump to that location.

Well mine look just like the first example. And still no tiles. I'm about ready to give up on it. Is there a way if someone would be willing to create the terrain for me? I have checked other routes and mine seems to be setup the same and yet nothing. I want to do this just for my own personal use but I have no problem sharing with everyone.

I'm having the same problem suddenly. Is there a possibility that Railworks changed something in the last update that has effected the way it reads terrain files?
