Is there a Flat, dry grass, no-flora template?

Unread postby rickintucson » Wed Jan 18, 2012 7:36 pm

I'm modeling the Union Pacific line on the eastern Colorado plains. I need a template that is flat, and has dry or very dry grass, and would like it without flora. I will put flora in where I want it. This area is mainly grassland and irrigated farm land.

Anyone know of a template like this, or how to make one?

Thanks,
Rick

Yes, that kind of texture is available in the UKTrainsim Freeware Terrain Texture pack, available here in the file section.

However, if you want to use the textures from that pack, do a search for several threads in the forum here, concerning what you have to do to install them properly.

I was attempting to to make a new texture and I copied the dark green grass to my developer folder, editted the bin files and when I went to use it there was no foilage on it. So now I have dark with foliage and mine with out. It works good under roads so the foilage doesnt show up. There are 2 dry grasses in the default, maybe this will work for you and one of them.
