Signaling Question

Unread postby SCLALINE » Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:39 am

I am Stuck on this, ill explain
Image

ok the signal diagram is the prototype - i have checked my links and cannot figure why this isnt working, i know its obvious but i am stuck as to how to signal this
the reason i am stuck is thhis is how i initially set it up

Both SB Main Signals and the NB Main 1 Signal work correctly, however depending on where i place the links the NB Wye to Main and the NB main 2 signals are acting up, either the show green over red on diverging or all red

according to the diagram how should i signal this junction to provide for accurate AI operations
general traffic flow out of the Yard NB is to take the north wye to crossover D E to NB Main 1
Amtraks on SB main 2 Cross Over at G-F to Main 1 to enter the Jacksonville Station

my question is how should i signal the Wye to Main and NB main 2 Signals as they wont work properly

I think I know what your problem is but I wouldn't want to be wrong.
With that in mind try the tutorials at www.pikesproducts.com.
After going through that it should give you a better idea of whats going on.

Ok this is weird, I put a reply in here (I thought) a few hours ago.

Any way, I had similar advice (pikes products) partly because as it appears you are modeling a CSX line you would be more likely to get the signal codes you are looking for. The default signals in RW3 are based on BNSF/ UP rules, Pike made his signals based on NS/ CSX rules.

My other thought was with the Wye to Main Signal - I believe it would need to be a 2-head, 4-point signal. You would need to decide if Left or Right side of the Wye is the default position for the switch. (I assume Left) So Link 0 before A, Link 1 between A&C. Link 2 between C&D. Link 3 south of B - this should get the right behavior from the signal.

Good luck. Signalling in RW3 can be ... well ... interesting.
